Getting the Mail

My husband and son always get the mail together. Kellan, who’s 15 months old enthusiastically yelled “may-yull!” when his Daddy got home today and was standing near the front door.

Nathan scooped him up and opened the door, let Kellan grab the letters in the box, and said “Give the mail to Mama.”

Just like he does every single time, Kellan exclaimed “Mama! Here go!” like he was about to give me a real gift, and threw the mail on the floor.

These are precious days and even the small things are worth remembering. My daughter, now 22, always loved to get the mail with me. She would sing a song as you opened the mailbox. Great memories. Thanks for sharing.

Your writing captured the perfect "slice" of your day. Well written.

And as a mom of an 8, 6, and 4 year old, I miss these types of memories! Enjoy these precious days with Kellan.
