Peanutbutter and jelly?
Again? Sure. We don't have much else. Agh. We're out of bread. Will he eat the "butts"? It's that or no sandwich. Yogurt. Apple. Red pepper. Veggie Straws. 4 M&Ms. Always a spoon from home with a "K" written on the back. I don't know if he cares, but the one time I told him I wrote a "K" on the back, and he liked it. He cares. I saw him look at it today. A riveting lunch-packing conversation.

Oof! Our fridge was broken for weeks this summer, I feel this so deeply. In the moment, I was too angry to use it as content inspiration for writing but you are making me think differently now! I love the back and forth on this conversation- at first I thought this was between you and a child, but now I'm thinking it's between you and a spouse- either way your poem invited an engaging reread!

My gosh, how frustrating! I cannot imagine trying to navigate 9 days of meal prep and lunch making with no refrigeration, but it sounds like you are doing it with grace. I enjoyed your poem. Thank you for sharing.

May have to go get a mini fridge for the time being. Then that can turn into a nice beer fridge after. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Just think of how creative you are fetting. Oh, and go with the beer fridge idea from McT. Brilliant.
